NOT ONCE BUT TWICE
(Tuesday, December 06, 2011)
So the Swindon Panthers played a head to head with the Milton Keynes Hurricanes in pre-season recently and came out victors on both counts. The first match at Milton Keynes saw both sides exchange goals and hits with the wiltshire side edging a 3-2 win. The return leg was a goal fest with the two teams exchanging goals once again and the Panthers holding a narrow lead going into the third period despite running into penalty trouble. A strong third saw the Panthers win 10-5 on home ice. so 2-0 so far in pre season for Coach Alexander with the team starting to show signs of jelling.
CATS GO FLYING
(Tuesday, November 08, 2011)
The first challenge game of the year has been arranged against the Milton Keynes Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are old rivals from summercups past but the teams have not met for a few years. this will be a good test for the new Panthers squad.

The swindon Panthers are now taking some well earned rest from the hectic summer schedule. we have scrimmages on sunday evenings for the team and any other players who may be looking to join the club. times are normally 9-10pm STC.
HAWKS FLY ON TO VICTORY
(Tuesday, August 23, 2011)
In the finals of this years summercup 2011, the Swindon Panthers were beaten by the Chelmsford Nighthawks in a one sided affair at the link centre. the home side couldnt match the depth of the hawks side and eventually lost 7-1 on the day. a dissapointing end to a great season that saw the boys compete against Elite league players and rreally test their metal. thankyou to everyone involved.
SUMMERCUP FINALS
(Tuesday, August 16, 2011)
The summercup 2011 finals day will be held this year on sunday 21st august at the link centre, Swindon. There will be 2 games involved, seeing the Cardiff Titans face the Solent Scorpions for 3rd spot at 5.15pm, this will then be followed by the 1st and 2nd place game between the Swindon Panthers and the Chelmsford Nighthawks at approx 8pm. admission will be £2.50 for adults and £1.00 concession for children
PANTHERS CLAW TITANS
(Tuesday, August 16, 2011)
The Swindon panthers faced the league winning Cardiff Titans for the playoffs in this years summercup. after losing the first leg in Cardiff 10-6, the Panthers faced the titans at the link centre and run away with the second leg winning it 10-2 for a 16-12 aggregate score. an amazing turnaround from the swindon boys who now face the Chelmsford nighthawks in the playoff finals this sunday at the link centre.
OFFENCE ON FIRE
(Thursday, July 07, 2011)
The Swindon Offence was in top form this weekend when they fired 36 goals passed Basingstoke and Bristol Combined. The 2 wins puts the Panthers in the top spot with only Cardiff chasing who have games in hand. Swindon play Peterbrough at home this weekend before facing Cardiff in what could be a title deciding double header next weekend.
TWO MORE W'S
(Tuesday, June 28, 2011)
The Swindon Panthers have chalked up another 2 marks in the Win Column. after travelling to Peterborough and beating the Eagles 8-2 the Wiltshire hosted the Basingstoke Cougars at the link centre on sunday and ran out 12-3 winners there too. The game saw the return of the fan favourite irish import, Paul 'Rusty' O'donovan, who has returned to playing after a spell coaching the side. He made an immidiate impact linking up with Rocking Robbie Croucher for 5 points on the night with his line. Next the team travels to basingstoke on friday before facing Bristol on sunday, so busy times ahead for the boys.
WINNING WAYS
(Wednesday, June 08, 2011)
The Swindon Panthers continued their winning ways with a 8-5 win against the Slough Satans, the Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first period but a strong fight back from the satans brought them within 1 before the Swindon side took control of the match again. This weekend the Boys travel to Peterborough to face the Eagles for the first time this season.
DOUBLE ROAD WINS
(Friday, May 27, 2011)
The Swindon Panthers bounced back from their home loss to Chelmsford with 2 road wins over the last couple of weeks. First the team travelled to Slough and came away with a scrappy 5-3 win over the Satans and then last weekend the team went down to the south coast and faced the Solent Scorpions and again after a slow start got the win with a 8-3 victory. the boys face Slough at home next for the rematch. face off 5.15pm
HOME LOSS
(Thursday, May 12, 2011)
The Swindon Panthers were beaten at home last weekend by the Summercup Defending Champions, Chelmsford Nighthawks. Swindon couldn't get going in the first period and went 2 goals behind and struggled to compete from then on dispite better 2nd and 3rd periods. the Teams first loss will hopefully be put behind them as the boys travel to Slough this weekend to face the Satans. 7.30pm faceoff
THE BIG BOYS
(Thursday, May 05, 2011)
This sunday sees the Swindon Panthers play their first home game of the 2011 season against the defending Champions, Chelmsford Nighthawks. Both teams have won their initial fixtures and sunday promises to be any exciting affair. Faceoff 5.15pm
ELAINE STARSMEARE
(Thursday, April 14, 2011)
The Swindon Panthers and the Swindon Hockey community were sad to hear of the death of Elaine Starsmeare last night. Elaine was the mother of Shaun, who plays for the Panthers and Leigh, who plays for the Wildcat acadamy U14B squad. She will be sorely missed and our thoughts are with her 2 boys. There will be a minutes silence at the Panthers first home game against Chelmsford on the 8th May as a mark of respect.
CATS AND DOGS!!
(Wednesday, April 13, 2011)
The 2011 season gets underway this weekend as the Swindon Panthers make the short trip down the M4 to face the Bristol Maddogs for the first game of the summercup. Swindon will be looking to get of to a winning start this year while the maddogs depleted by the creation of the Pitbulls ENIHL2 team will be looking to field a largely new team.
SCORPIONS GET STUNG
(Friday, March 25, 2011)
A very depleated Panthers squad travelled to the south coast for a late night game against summercup challengers Solent Scorpions. 9 swindon players made the trip and went 2 goals down very early in thew match with all things looking bleak. The Panthers were however able to show their usual resilience and battle back to claim a very good 2 points in the W column. This will conclude the preseason matches for the club as they get ready for the summer of hockey to come. watch this space.
SATANS GET MAULED
(Monday, February 21, 2011)
The panthers travelled to Slough on friday for a very late faceoff against the Satans. The two teams had never played each other before so anticipation was high. Although the Panthers conceeded first, it seemed to wake the wiltshire side up, who responded by unloading on the Slough netminder. This was a good skilled game by two teams who will now face each other in the up coming summer cup.
ROYALTY OVER THROWN
(Monday, February 14, 2011)
The Panthers made the long journey to the Gillingham Ice bowl on saturday night to face the Invicta Knights in a late faceoff. After falling behind early with some sloppy defensive plays the Panthers finally got into their stride and finished the first period 2 goals up. The Swindon side never looked back and aside from a late Invicta slapshot goal from #80 Gruber, the Panthers finished the game 7-2 winners. The Wiltshire side now travel to Slough on friday night to face the Satans.
TITANS GET SQUASHED
(Wednesday, February 02, 2011)
In the first preseason game of the year for the panthers, a visit to the Cardiff bay area was on the cards. the Swindon side jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but a resilient Cardiff team battled back to within 1 that made for a tense final few minutes until Swindon #53 Gough netted a nice 2 on 1 to seal the win. Next up the boys travell to Gillingham to face the Knights of Invicta.
