WARRIORS BATTLE BUT LOSE WAR!
(Monday, June 29, 2009)
The Swindon Panthers travelled to Bristol this weekend to face the hard hitting Bristol Warriors for what was a close affair until the 3rd period. Bristol started the match well until swindon got the go ahead goal through a blistering slapshot from new sniper, Tom Gillingham. Bristol took advantage of some sloppy defensive work and equaled up the score to see the period out. In the second period Bristol got in to penalty trouble that allowed swindon to score twice but a resilient Warriors leveled the score again at 3-3 by the end of the second. The panthers came out with a new gear in the third and scored 3 unanswered goals to finish the game. next for the Panthers are last years league winners, the Cardiff titans.
SOLENT GET SILENCED
(Monday, June 29, 2009)
The Panthers continued their impressive season with a back to back double over the Solent Scorpions. First the Swindon side won the home leg 8-3 and then travelled to the coast and faced the Scorpions at their barn and came away with a 8-4 win. With the Panthers currently sitting in 2nd place behind last years playoff champs and yet to play the hawks in chelmsford carrying a game in hand, the table couldn't be any tighter!!.
PREDATORS GET MAULED
(Monday, June 08, 2009)
The Panthers entered into this game with a few nerves which showed as the Predators scored first with a big slapshot that beat the swindon goalie, Ross Webster, who was playing his first game for the home side. The Panthers settled down and set about pounding the Newcastle net with shot after shot that seemed to wear out the Predator netminder, the period finished with the home side 4-2 up. From then on the panthers never looked back scoring another 10 goals to the Predators 1 and finishing the game 14-3. A good spirited game was had by all and the Panther management would like to extend our thanks to the Newcastle Predators for making the long trip down. Next game is a Cup match away to the league leading Cardiff Titans.
PREDATOR CHALLENGE
(Tuesday, June 02, 2009)
This weekend the Panthers take a weekend off from the Memorial Cup and face a travelling team from Newcastle. The Panthers have never met the Predators before and will be looking forward to a new challenge and an entertaining game.
MIXED FORTUNES
(Tuesday, June 02, 2009)
The last two fixtures of the month for the Panthers were away games at Peterborough and Basingstoke. The new team to the cup, the Peterborough Eagles proved too much for the travelling Panthers taking the match with a 6-1 defeat of te swindon side. A revitalised Panthers team then travelled to Basingstoke and came up against a very good Cougar side including a very inform netminder but battled through for the first away win of the season at 3-0.
PANTHERS GO 1-0
(Tuesday, May 12, 2009)
Althought the home side got off to a very slow start in sundays game against Bristol, they finished the game on top. Swindon went 2 goals down early in the first and kept fighting back until they took the go ahead goal early in the second period at 4-3. it was a fast and physical game between local rivals which finished 9-5 to the home team, next the Panthers host last years play off champions, the Chelmsford Nighthawks, face off 4.15pm

PANTHERS DO A CLOSE DOUBLE
(Wednesday, March 11, 2009)
The Swindon Panthers travelled to the Blue ice plaza to face the Solihull Wolves again and came away with another victory. The two teams met a year ago when the Panthers swept past the Wolves, 20-2 but this match was a different beast altogether with a much stronger Wolves team facing the visiting Panthers. Although the Swindon side took an early lead, the Solihull team were never far behind but they simply couldn't get in front of the Wiltshire side with a game ending 5-4 Panthers. Match report available
WOLVES ISSUE CHALLENGE
(Tuesday, March 03, 2009)
The Swindon Panthers will be travelling to Solihull this weekend to face the Wolves in a last minute challenge game. CARDIFF GAME CANCELLED
(Thursday, February 19, 2009)
Unfortunately the game at cardiff was cancelled last weekend by the management at planet ice Cardiff. Due to time issues at the rink the ice availability was removed, much to the anger of both teams. The Bay Lightening team will be looking to challenge the Panthers again in the near future.
CARDIFF CHALLENGE
(Tuesday, February 03, 2009)
As the start of the summercup season approaches the Panthers will travel to Cardiff bay and face the lightening in a pre-season challenge game on February 14th. The last time the two teams met although it ended as a Panther win the score did not reflect how well the Cardiff side competed. No doubt Swindon will face a much improved Lightening side looking for some pay back in 2009.
